The 16th and 17th century that follow now are known as the Age of Enlightenment. A philosophical movement that reinstates the supremacy of reason, knowledge and freedom. Technological and economical developments are running parallel to this thinking. This movement is rooted in European Renaissance, which inherits ideas originating 20 centuries ago from Greek philosophy. It brings western people the first systematic approach of human thinking and knowledge since the Platonic school. |
