On these pages you will find some statistics about the RNI charts the Top 50 and the prediction charts Troef 20 and Playlist. When Radio Northsea came on the air again in February 1971, they soon introduced their own hitparade. The Top 50 was first broadcast on 21th February 1971, presented by Tony Allan. When the Dutch offshore stations had to stop broadcasting in August 1974 it also meant the end of the RNI 's hitparade. The last Top 50 went on the air on 24th August 1974. During its lifetime of 184 issues, more than 1300 singles made it to the RNI charts, more than 250 of which never even entered the other Dutch chart, the wellknown Veronica Top 40, that was regarded as the official Dutch hitparade. Just as Veronica's hitparade, the RNI chart was available in printed form, except for the first 4 issues, but it was less widely available as the Top 40. This page is made as a tribute to RNI's Top 50, to which I used to listen every week. Whereas there are plenty of pages with statistical data about Veronica's Top 40, I haven't seen any with similar information about RNI's chart, although there are some pages with scans of original issues. Therefore I decided to make such a page myself. Hope you enjoy. |
