Low Flow Coriolis Flowmeter Solutions

Industry leaders - Micro Motion and KROHNE - have further pushed the envelope of Coriolis mass flow measurement. Both have announced new Coriolis mass flowmeter models that measure extremely low flows. Krohne's Model 0.3E, which will be released this summer, can measure flow rates down to 0.01 lb./min within 0.15% accuracy.

KROHNE introduces mix and match flowmeter concept for ultimate flexibility

To overcome the problem of providing tailor made solutions at cost-effective prices, KROHNE has extended the concept of modularity across its entire range of electromagnetic flowmeters. Any combination of signal converter and flowhead can be assembled, either remotely, or in compact design; offering a mix and match capability depending upon the application or duty. Flowmeter assembly has been greatly simplified by the new modular design of the components, and the use of plug-in connectors. A new modular price structure has also been developed. Extremely competitive list prices now apply to all electromagnetic flowmeters.

Hazardous Area Approvals For Key Products

Factory Mutual approvals have been issued for the following key KROHNE Products:

*** Coriolis Mass Flowmeter - E Series ***

This family of flowmeters, specially designed for low-flow rates and vibration-prone environments is now available for use in the following hazardous area:

PRIMARY(Sensor)
Class I, II, III, Div 1, Groups A - G
Class I, Div 2, Groups A - D
Class II, Div 2, Group F,G
Class III, Div 2

CONVERTER
Remote Mount - Div 2 or General Purpose
Rack Mount - General Purpose

These Coriolis flowmeters can be used in a process area having Div 1 hazard rating with the converter mounted remotely in a General purpose or Div 2 area.

*** Metal Tube Variable Area Flowmeter - Model H250 ***

This popular metal tube variable area flowmeter for liquids or gases, is available for use in the following hazardous areas:

Intrinsically safe for use in Class I, Div 1, Groups A - D
Non-incendive for use in Class II, Div1, Groups A - D

The H250 is available with an ESK module which is a 4 - 20 mA analog signal retransmitter.

Innovative Reflex Radar Level Gauge offers New Solution

KROHNE's new Reflex-Radar Gauge simultaneously tracks both level in liquid or solid media and interface in liquid media. This new instrument operates on the Time Domain Reflectivity (TDR) concept, a technology which has been used in the telecommunications industry to detect line breaks. This technology has been adapted by KROHNE to create a tank level measurement device, which measures surface level via a transit time pulse, and interface via the difference in dielectric reflection experienced between two substances. The BM100 sensor consists of two rods or cables, or a single coaxial cable immersed in the product through which a short low power pulse is sent, reflected, and received. The tracking of interface and level are simultaneous yet independent of each other and are
unaffected by foam, dust, temperature, or pressure variations. KROHNE's BM100 is a truly unique instrument in the marketplace and greatly expands the application range for Radar-based level measurement.

TIDALFLUX IFM 4100 PF, the solution for highly accurate and reliable flow measurement in partly filled pipes

In processes such as waste water and general sewage treatment, or when discharging treated waste-water into rivers, flow measurements frequently have to be made, even when the pipeline is only partly filled. Standard electromagnetic flowmeters however, need a full pipe to operate correctly. This meant that specially constructed sumps, or sluice underpasses, had to be built to ensure a full section of pipe. Not only did this increase the cost of the installation, but it also introduced the risks of clogging and silting in the line: adding to maintenance costs.

KROHNE's TIDALFLUX however combines a standard electromagnetic flowmeter, with a built-in capacitive level system. It needs no special, costly construction to accommodate it, and only a short inlet and outlet section of pipeline is required to ensure accurate measurement. With its smooth inside liner construction, no mechanical moving parts to wear, and only one set of electrodes, it is a reliable and maintenance-free flowmeter.

G-Series application note

G-SERIES APPLICATION NOTE
The G-Series Single Straight Coriolis Mass flowmeter is continuously finding new areas of success. One of the applications where it does better than the competition is in handling abrasive slurries. Dual and bent tube meters suffer from problems like wall erosion at the bends, potential blockages & imbalanced flows which can cause errors. The G-Series single straight tube advantage makes a difference. In addition, we can provide a transition piece to taper the pipe I.D to match the measuring tube I.D. This protects the flange faces from erosion, and reflects Krohne's commitment to provide complete solutions to customer problems.
